Heritage extended its winning streak to three games on Tuesday with Southeast Whitfield.

The Generals defeated the Raiders, 6-5, to move one step closer to advancing to the Georgia class AAA state playoffs. The Navy-and-Red have won three consecutive one-run ballgames, including wins over Ringgold, 3-2, on April 22, an 11 inning battle with Central Carrollton, 9-8, and the Raiders.

Jake Sampson led the Generals with three his and three RBIs. That also includes the game-winning RBI.

Southeast scored one run in the first inning.

Heritage, led by head coach Eric Beagles, rallied to take the lead, 4-1, in the bottom of the inning.

Cody Sherlin hit an RBI single, and Sampson had a two-RBI double. Colby Chattin hit a

sacrifice fly. Chattin also made several key plays on defense, including a double play with runners in scoring position.

Heritage scored another run in the fifth inning, while Southeast scored four.

Freshman Austin Morris got the win. He is 3-0 on the season.

The Generals will conclude their regular season this week with two away games. They will travel to Ridgeland on Thursday April, 29 and Haralson County, April 30.
