The first half started off a little slow but picked up pace by half-time, ending scoreless for both teams.
Going into the second half, the Lady Phoenix had a hand ball in the box and the Dragons took advantage of the penalty kick to score the first goal of the night.
The Phoenix made several runs toward the goal as the second half progressed; however, Sonoraville was unable to score.
“We worked hard individually and everyone got playing time, but we just couldn’t get it all to come together as a team tonight,” said SHS coach Kristen McGuire.
