BASKETBALL: Sonoraville girls 58, Adairsville 29

A huge first half propelled the homestanding Lady Phoenix to a 7-AA North victory over Adairsville.

Sonoraville (14-11, 6-4) outscored the visiting Lady Tigers 33-4 in the first two periods and then won the fourth quarter 22-3 to seal the win.

Brittany Redd was the leading scorer for the Lady Phoenix with 14 while four others added seven points each.

Emily Cole had 11 for Adairsville, which will take on Model on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Region 7-AA tournament.

Sonoraville enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed from the North and will play Temple at 5:30 p.m.
