“We had a game plan defensively and we played it about as well as we could but unfortunately they did too,” said SHS Head Coach Stephanie Caudell.
Sonoraville trailed 8-7 after the first quarter and 20-17 at the half. The team would cut the lead down to one by the end of the third quarter but the Lady Indians pulled away in the fourth, outscoring the Lady Phoenix 11-7.
“In the fourth quarter they got a couple of steals and a couple of lay-ups,” said Caudell. “We had open looks and didn’t knock anything down.
Chattooga did a good job of double-teaming Noelle Defoor all night. They held her to eight points, most of which she got on offensive rebounds. She had 13 rebounds overall.
Hannah Smith led the Lady Phoenix with 13 points. Jennilee Gentry followed with eight.
Both Morgan Partlow and Brittany Redd each grabbed seven rebounds. Redd added three assists.
Kristen Adams led Chattooga with 15 points. Mariah Price added 11.
