The Phoenix took an early 12-9 lead after the first quarter and the team was up 26-22 at the half. The Phoenix outscored LFO 11-9 in the third. LFO tried to comeback in the fourth, with an 18-16 quarter.
“I felt like we came out and played with pretty good effort, we just didn’t execute very well, but it was nice to still come away with the win,” said SHS head coach Mashburn.
The telling stat of the game came at the free throw line where the Phoenix hit 10-of-14 shots while LFO managed just 8-of-16.
Along with his 21 points, Allen also had four rebounds and three steals.
“Adolphus had a very efficient game for us, going 9-for-13 from the field and 3-for-3 at the free throw line,” said Mashburn.
Justin Zachary added 13 for the Phoenix and also recorded four rebounds, four assists and four steals. Greg Mulkey added eight points and C.J. Morris had seven points, four rebounds, and four steals.
Seth Weaver scored 19 for the Warriors while Justin Walker added 10.
