The postseason will begin with six Greater Rome teams putting their name in the hat to fight for a state championship.
The list will include
No. 1 Calhoun, which once again ruled the region and cemented its one-seed for the playoffs by dominating Armuchee in the region championship game on Friday night, 49-10.
The Yellow Jackets will now turn their focus to Avondale who will travel to Phil Reeve Stadium next Friday as the four-seed from Region 6-A.
Armuchee, who was assured of a first-round home game before their defeat on Friday, will head into the playoffs as the two-seed and will host 6-AA three-seed Westminster in the first round.
Pepperell and Chattooga both gained access into the playoffs by winning their play-in games against Adairsville and Rockmart, respectively, and a coin flip on Saturday decided what seed each of the two schools would receive.
The Dragons won the coin flip giving them the three-seed and a ticket to play at defending Class AA state champion and
6-AA two-seed Buford in the first round.
Chattooga is the four-seed and heads to play one-seed Lovett to open the playoffs.
Two Region 6-A teams from the area will head to the postseason, including region champ Darlington and four-seed Trion.
The Tigers, coming off a loss to the Bulldogs on Friday, will be at home for the first round where Region 7-A four-seed Warren County will visit Chris Hunter Stadium.
Trion will be on the road to ta ke on perennial power Lincoln County.
