At LaFayette, Josh Morgan and Dimitri Miles connected on a pair of long touchdown passes and Miles added a third score on a short run to lift the Ramblers to a 34-20 victory over rival Trion on Friday night.

Morgan was 12-of-25 for 238 yards and three touchdown passes for LaFayette (2-0). Andre Bagley followed up last week's 236-yard effort with 12 carries for 150 yards against the Bulldogs (0-2).

Miles hauled in five passes for 195 yards and scored on pass plays of 72 and 73 yards.

C.J. Cantrell added a TD catch on an 8-yard reception while Tony Garcia booted field goals of 33 and 34 yards.

Sidney Southern and Tripp White had interceptions for the Ramblers.

Trion got a scoring runs of 2 and 5 yards by Ryan Wilson and a 29-yard TD run from Lamar Lashley to account for the Bulldogs' points.

Wilson led Trion with 62 yards rushing on 18 carries. Hayden Tucker was 4-of-11 for 70 yards in the air.

The game was marred by penalties. LaFayette was flagged 10 times for 95 yards while Trion was penalized nine times for 91 yards.

LaFayette will look for a 3-0 start next Friday at home against Murray County while Trion will hit the road at Model next week.

The most important thing from this game is the Trion players did not quit. They had their chances too but they had heart. We all know the coach for Trion has no clue how to coach pass defence, so the passing yards we gave up were to be expected.

One more note, Lamar Lashley played every play from the start of the third quarter. And not once did you see him hanging his head. The coach needs to play someone with that much heart more than playing time he was getting.

Trion did a better job tonight on offense and holding on to the ball.If they can get better week after week then they can compete for a playoff spot
