Volleyball: Ridgeland falls short against Northwest Whitfield

The Ridgeland Lady Panthers put a valiant effort on Tuesday, but dropped a home match to Class AAAA No. 8 Northwest Whitfield, 25-20, 25-18.

Ridgeland (0-2) led 13-5 in Game 1, but the Lady Bruins rallied to tie the match at 20-20 before going on to the win.

Northwest jumped out to an early in Game 2 before holding on the score the victory.

Cori Hudson had five aces and two digs for Ridgeland. Jessica Brookshire added five digs and two aces. Rebecca Terrell had two aces. Jamie Brown had three kills on the night while Brandi Francisco added three digs. Sophomore Alivia Hudson also played well in place of starting setter Macey Littleton, who had to leave the match after diving for a ball during Game 1.

The Lady Panthers will travel to LFO on Thursday to join Cedartown in a tri-match.
