The Armuchee Indians have endured a lot of bitter seasons in recent years, but that might make this year’s hot start that much sweeter.

Armuchee improved to 3-0 with a 28-7 road win at Dade County in a 7-AA crossover game on Friday night. The Indians have already matched their win total for all of 2007.

After falling behind 7-0 to the Wolverines, Armuchee struck back with a 35-yard touchdown pass from Dalton Earwood to Taylor Evans.

Earwood had another big play in the second period, sprinting for an 80-yard TD to make it 14-7.

Later in the second quarter, T.C. Boyd scored on a 1-yard TD plunge to give the Indians a 21-7 lead at the break.

Earwood salted the game away in the fourth quarter, scoring on a 70-yard run.

The Indians travel to Model next week for a showdown with their county rival at Blue Devil Stadium.
