Rome's Jason Montgomery tops the field in first week of Pick-em contest

In an opening weekend full of a couple of upsets, Roman Jason Montgomery bested the field in Prepcentralonline.com's Pick-em contest correctly picking 13 of 16 games and coming closest on the tiebreaker game. Montgomery and the rest of the top five will have their names placed in the hat for the end of season drawing to determine the winner of this season;s prizes. The prizes include a recliner, HD television and car stereo furnished thanks to World Hi-Fi Buys of Rome.

Montgomery topped the field by predicting Rockmart would beat Cedartown 14-7. The Yellow Jackets actually beat the Bulldogs 14-0, but his score was the closest. Other members of the top five in week one include: Rome's Chris Parton, Silver Creek's Ben Woodall, Lindale's Dewayne Duncan and Cedartown's Jeff Hunnicutt.

This week's contest has 17 games for players to pick from with the Gridiron Central Game of the Week, Armuchee at Calhoun serving as the tie-breaker game.
