The Lady Phoenix managed to push one run across in the fourth inning off of two hits for the victory. Aubrie Worsham connected for the RBI single. Chattooga had five hits in the game.
The most promising aspect of the game for the Lady Phoenix was that the defense committed no errors.
“Our defense played solid tonight but our offense has to step up,” said SHS coach Carissa Roustan. “It is difficult to score runs with only two hits.”
Emily Pruitt picked up the win, throwing all seven innings. She struck out five and walked none.
Worsham went 1-for-3 and Morgan Allen also had a hit in a 1-for-2 performance at the plate.
The Lady Phoenix left five runners on base compared to Chattooga’s four.
Krystal Adams picked up the loss for the Lady Indians. She threw six innings, struck out four, walked four and hit one batter.
Courtney Muray had two hits in the loss for the Lady Indians (5-8, 0-3).
Chattooga has a tough assignment on Thursday when they travel to LFO.
Sonoraville will host North Murray.
